With virtually nothing on the market for megacolon bunnies, especially holistic/natural support, we knew we had to take matters into our own hands for our special megacolon bunny, Delilah. So, after a lot of diligent research and consultation with our mentor Lucile Moore (author of Rabbit Nutrition and Nutritional Healing amongst other well-known rabbit care books), we developed this powerful yet gentle supplement treat specifically designed to support megacolon bunnies.
Delilah's Restorative Megacolon Supplements are a mixture of antispasmodics, anti-inflammatories, and herbs that specifically help with absorption of nutrients, countering irritation in the gut lining, and soothing mucous membranes of the GI tract. They are best when used in conjunction with our RESTORATIVE MEGACOLON HERBAL BLEND (purchase here: www.etsy.com/listing/732137076)
✔️ High VITAMIN C herbs help with improvement in fecal shape and output: rose hips, dill, thyme, and celery seed.
✔️ HEALTHY FATS both for caloric value and because fat is needed in the gut for motilin, so it helps increase proper gut function: oats and alfalfa leaf
✔️ ADAPTOGENS for anti-inflammatory and stress reducing effects: Schizandra berry and Ashwaghanda
✔️ GUT HEALTH & MOTILITY AIDS: plantain, probiotics, enzymes, brewer's yeast, ginger root
✔️ IMMUNE SUPPORT: echinacea, slippery elm bark, marshmallow root, and dandelion root
While this treat is designed specifically with megacolon in mind, it can also be safely given to small pets who do not have megacolon.
❗️ NOTE: This treat is an adjunct/complementary approach to the megacolon disorder by adding nutritional support, as a lack of nutrient absorption is part of the disease process. It is NOT a substitute for medication. The most important thing is medical management and working closely with a rabbit-savvy vet who believes in megacolon as a diagnosis/congenital disease.

Our little bunny suffers from megacolon. She has large poops, and often you can find her straining at the litterbox. Poor thing :( Since TheWellKeptRabbit started selling Delilah's Restorative Megacolon Herbs, we've been giving her a tablespoon every day, and she's been having less issues, less sitting at the litterbox looking sad. So we had to try these Megacolon Supplements as soon as it became available! It's been about 2 weeks, and I'm amazed! Our baby's poops are smaller! (Not all of them, you can't cure Megacolon) But these are definitely helping her! Poops getting smaller can be a sign of GI stasis, so I was a little weary, but I've given it some time and she's starting to have normal bunny sized poops consistently and I haven't seen her in pain the past week! Can't wait for these treats to be back soon!
